SAFETY UPDATES

Protecting Workers from Combustible Dust Explosion Hazards

One of the most effective ways to reduce unnecessary and costly repairs and to ensure a safe and healthy work environment is to routinely clean, inspect, and maintain the facilities, pieces of equipment, processes, and vehicles which are utilized in the various operations inherent to the company.  Preventive maintenance refers to the regular inspection, lubrication, maintenance, and repair of equipment to keep the facility running efficiently and safely.  The procedures Viafield utilize reflect the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s grain handling facilities standard, which applies to grain elevators, feed mills and processing plants.
